The New Forest has its own Litter Ambassador

Peter Armstrong, who is in his eighth year of litter picking most weeks, was selected by Keep Britain Tidy in 2018 to be one of their initial 100 across the Country.  He initiated this website (Clean New Forest) and since 2015,  together with District Officers has played a prominent role in the Annual Spring Clean across the New Forest.


  • Saw 500 volunteers get involved both years


  • The weather was a factor but still a few hundred pickers were out
  • Peter initiated supplying litter packs to New Forest schools
  • Peter spoke personally at school assemblies

  • 1200 volunteers in over 50 groups.  Peter personally recruited over 100
  • Peter organized and ran a stand at a Volunteer Fayre in January which resulted in several new litter groups
  • Peter has this year also been working with businesses who are getting into the community litter picking and supplying funds for school litter packs.  If you are a local business  who can help and get involved, please contact him
Peter is looking for Litter Heroes in every Village and Town of the New Forest.  Please get in touch if you know of someone or a group already active or who wants to get involved.
